Chiefs’ Rashee Rice releases statement following Dallas car wreck: ‘I take full responsibility’

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice released a statement regarding a “major” car crash he was involved in Dallas on Saturday. After his attorney, Royce West, stated that Rice was cooperating with authorities, Rice affirmed his cooperation.
“Today, I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident,” Rice said in his statement on Wednesday. “I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.”
Authorities searched for Rice after the car wreck on the North Central Expressway at approximately 6:20 p.m. Dashcam footage captured the incident, showing a Corvette and Lamborghini speeding before colliding with other vehicles.
FOX 4 Dallas reported that Rice rented the Lamborghini SUV, and he was supposed to be the only driver according to company policy. Dallas Police stated occupants in both vehicles fled the scene without providing assistance. Two drivers were treated for injuries, and two others were hospitalized for minor injuries.
Rice, a Texas native, played high school football at Richland High School and attended SMU. He was drafted by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft and emerged as a key player in the team’s offense last season
