The son of a prominent Dominican politician was tragically shot and killed at a Houston gas station on Monday, and authorities are seeking three suspects in connection with the incident.
Identified as Luis Alfredo Pacheco Rojas, 34, he was the son of Alfredo Pacheco, the president of the Chamber of Deputies of the Dominican Republic. Luis Alfredo Pacheco Rojas, known in the music industry in Houston as “El Pikante,” worked in the city’s music scene.
According to reports, Rojas and two other men were leaving a gas station on South Wayside Drive around 7:25 p.m. when they entered a black SUV. Simultaneously, a Dodge Charger and a Mercedes-Benz approached the SUV. Two individuals exited the Dodge, while one person left the Mercedes. All three began firing on the SUV before fleeing the scene.
Rojas was rushed to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Another victim sustained critical injuries and was hospitalized.In response to the tragic event, Alfredo Pacheco expressed his grief in a post on X, stating, “With great regret, I announce the unexpected death of my son LUIS ALFREDO PACHECO ROJAS, who lived outside the country. This fact is currently under investigation. I sincerely thank friends and colleagues for their solidarity in this difficult time.” Detectives have released surveillance images of the three suspects being sought, two of whom were seen carrying what appeared to be firearms.
